Mitchell Starc about dropping in the game against Afghanistan

Mitchell Starc has finally opened up about being dropped in the game against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. The decision was one of the most controversial calls in recent Australian cricket history. Australia was eyeing a win with a big margin but ended up barely winning the match, as it was brought down to the wire.

Australia made its way out of the tournament. Coach Andrew McDonald and selector George Bailey had made the decision to ax Starc and bring in former No. 1 ODI bowler Kane Richardson.

“George and I have spoken and that is where it will stay, I had strong opinions on it and had a conversation, and that’s where it is.”

I spoke to George at length, it was a good conversation. Many different things were floated there. I still have ambitions to play T20 cricket for Australia but it is a long time until the next one and a lot of water to go under the bridge.“So we will face that when we get to that.”
