Former England captain Nasser Hussain said India's top order batsmen were "old-fashioned and shy"

Former England captain Nasser Hussain said India's top batsmen were "old-fashioned and shy" in their approach and were eliminated in  the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-finals.

Men in Blue after 10 overs At 62/2, it was  Hardik Pandya's 33-ball 63 that brought him closer to the 170-run mark. In response Jos Butler and Alex Hales won the game by 10 wickets, hitting 63 runs on power play alone.

A year ahead of the World Cup, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has spoken about how he wanted his side to play a fully aggressive cricket match. With 32 T20Is  played in 1

2.6 overs, India beat 1-6 in 1

2.6 overs, proving they were the fastest full-members on power play.

But when the World Cup started, India surprisingly turned away from this strategy entirely, allowing the bowlers to completely dominate the action . In this over 1-6 of his T20WC, India inexplicably saw him batting 100.5 and proved to be the second slowest team on power play.

“The contrast between the two teams in their respective power plays could not be greater. I  said on these pages that India is still playing a bit outdated at the top of the rankings. Even former Indian coach Ravi Shastri spoke about the need for  change when he was working for Sky last summer. India must have known they had to  score above average against this England batting team, but they went slowly and without Hardik at the end  would have been well below average.

"You're talking about a world-class array of talent, but the batting lineup at halftime in the T20 innings of the semifinals shouldn't have been 66-2." Tracked it down in just 16 overs without losing a  wicket. Bubneshwar Kumar, who performed well against Butler, took his 25 runs in  two overs.

“If India were after a decent sum they would have had to put in the effort, but  it seems like this way they didn't know what a good result was. We expected  Kumar to continue to impress Joss Butler in T20.In cricket, that didn't happen when England batted. Besides Hales' long lever on the other side, India had no answer.

“Hales angled very cleverly against Axor Patel because he turned him far from  the crease to his right hand. Hales picked him up behind the square on the side of his leg. Everyone was focused on how Suryakumar picked up the ball  from there, but Hales excelled in his approach and the way he  executed it.The best result in the history of the game. The white ball team I collected." India has been battling for a knockout round since he last won his ICC title in 2013.

"India is the worst performing whiteball her team ever. Every player in the world who joins the Indian Premier League talks about how it improves their game, but what  India has to offer so far," said Vaughan. he told The Telegraph. You should try it. Why  give the opposing bowler his first five overs?"
